How do the Hivenet paid plans work?

Paid plans give you a set amount of cloud storage for a monthly or yearly fee. They also unlock unlimited Send transfers.

Do you run promotions?

Sometimes. Check official Hivenet channels for current promotions or limited offers.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan anytime?

Yes. You can change your plan through your account settings. If you downgrade, make sure your stored data fits within the lower plan limit.

How do I cancel my paid plan?

To stop future charges, downgrade to the free plan through your account settings.

What happens if a payment fails?

If your payment fails, your account may enter a restricted state until payment succeeds or your usage fits within the free plan limits.

Can I use paid plans on mobile?

You can create and use a Hivenet account on mobile. Some plan-management actions may still be handled through the website.

How do I add credits to my account?

Go to Billing and choose one of the available top-up amounts. Complete payment through Stripe and your balance updates after a successful payment.

Do new users get a welcome offer?

Check the current pricing or onboarding flow for any active welcome bonus or first-purchase offer, since these may change over time.

How does billing work for compute time?

Compute uses prepaid credits with per-second billing. Your balance decreases while an instance is running. When you stop the instance, billing stops.

What happens if I run out of credits?

If your balance drops too low to keep the instance running, the instance is stopped automatically.

What's the minimum balance I need to start an instance?

You need at least one hour of credit for the configuration you want to launch.

What's the "current spend rate" on the Billing page?

It shows how much you are spending per hour at that moment based on your running instances.

Can I set up auto top-up?

Yes. Auto top-up becomes available after your first successful top-up. You can then choose a threshold and reload amount.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. Standard instance pricing already includes storage and network volume for that instance.

How do I see my payment history?

Billing details and transaction history are available through Stripe from the Billing section.

How does network and storage billing work?

Storage and network volume included with the instance are part of the listed price. There are no separate add-on charges for those included amounts.

Can I get a refund on unused credits?

No. Credit purchases are final and non-refundable.

Yes. Credits expire one year after purchase if they are not used.

How quickly do credits show after payment?

Usually right away, once Stripe confirms the payment.

Do I need to contribute?

None of our plans require any contribution. They offer a certain amount of cloud storage for a monthly or yearly fee. For example, the 200GB plan costs 1.99 EUR/month and provides 200GB of cloud storage.

How do I manage my Hivenet plan?

You can upgrade your plan by visiting your account page. If you haven't entered any payment information yet, you'll need to do so to process the upgrade. Once your payment information is entered and confirmed, you'll be billed for the new plan.

How can I downgrade my Hivenet plan?

You can downgrade your plan at any time through the app or our website. However, please ensure that you are not using more storage space than the lower plan allows. If you are, you'll need to remove content from your Hivenet until you're below the storage limit of your desired plan.

How can I cancel my Hivenet plan?

If you are on a paid plan and you want to stop being charged, you can downgrade to the free plan. Please refer to the steps for downgrading above.

What happens if my payment for the Hivenet plan fails?

If your payment fails, your account will enter into a "stasis" state. In this state, you will still be able to access your files, download them, move them to the trash, and empty your trash. However, you won't be able to upload any more data or perform any other actions. Once your payment goes through, everything will resume working as normal. Alternatively, you could remove enough data to qualify for the free plan; then, all actions will be possible again.

Can I just pay for a Hivenet plan and not contribute any storage?

Yes, you can choose to pay for a plan without contributing any storage.

What options are available if I join Hivenet via mobile?

Mobile users can create an account on the free plan. To choose a paid plan, you'll have to visit our website's pricing page, and to contribute, you'll need to download the desktop version.

How do I update my contribution?

Your contribution is initially defined during your onboarding process or new device setup. It can be modified anytime via the desktop settings. We like to keep things flexible, because we know change is the only constant!

How is the monthly reward calculated?

You can use the calculator on the contribution page to see how monthly rewards are calculated.
