Hivenet 1.15: New plans, account page, and rewards for your contribution

Published in July 2023, this release note records what Hivenet app 1.15 introduced at the time. Product availability, plan sizes, account controls, and contribution rewards have changed since then. Use Hivenet’s current pricing and release notes for today’s details.

1.15 general updates

At launch, version 1.15 added native Finder integration for macOS, improved File Explorer integration on Windows, and made upload, download, and data-repair behavior more reliable. Drum roll, please...

In July 2023, version 1.15 introduced paid storage plans and web-based account management. The launch range ran from a free 3GB plan to 8TB. Those were the plan sizes announced at the time; see current Hivenet pricing for today’s plans and availability.

At launch, the account page let users view and change their plan, review pricing history, see storage use and contribution data, and manage connected devices. Existing users moved to the free plan and kept the storage they already had. This was a July 2023 transition offer, not an offer to new users today.

Version 1.15 also introduced GBh, or gigabytes contributed per hour per device, as the basis for contribution rewards. That describes the launch model. Contribution is temporarily unavailable while Hivenet works on its next version. See the current contribution page for status updates.
