How do I start saving?

You start saving towards your monthly or yearly cost when you begin to contribute your unused space to Hivenet and for as long as you contribute. It's as simple as that.

Are there any conditions to start saving?

No. Anyone can contribute any of their unused space to Hivenet and for as long as they want. Also: no minimum contribution. We believe that every byte counts!

What do I need to do to apply my savings to my monthly bill?

Your savings will be automatically spent to offset your cloud storage costs. Anything that goes beyond that will be stored in a digital wallet on your account which can be used to offset future payments or even cash out.

Can I just pay for a Hivenet plan and not contribute any storage?

Yes, you can choose to pay for a plan without contributing any storage.

How do I update my contribution?

Your contribution is initially defined during your onboarding process or new device setup. It can be modified anytime via the desktop settings. We like to keep things flexible, because we know change is the only constant!

Is my data safe when I contribute storage?

Will contributing storage slow down my device?

Hivenet is designed to be unobtrusive. It only uses idle resources, meaning it won't slow down your device or interfere with your daily usage.

How are savings computed?

For every GB you contribute for a certain time, you get a certain amount of payback. For example, if you are paying €0.49 for the 20GB plan and you decide to contribute 100GB from your unused hard drive for 8 hours a day, by the end of the month your plan will be free of cost.
