The H1 2023 objective for Hive is simple: launch the Minimum Marketable Product (MMP) by July. Though this goal may seem challenging, taking it one step at a time is the best approach. Since January, Hive has consistently released new versions of HiveDisk, offering innovative features for secure and sustainable cloud storage. In this article, we'll explore the exciting roadmap for the next three months and the features that will help Hive reach its MMP milestone.

Delivering Success with HiveDisk: Monthly Feature Updates

Hive has already introduced two new versions of HiveDisk, delivering month after month of exciting features that provide the market's best solution for storing, accessing, and sharing your files in a safe, secure, and sustainable cloud.

Minimum Viable Product Milestone: New Features & Enhancements

Over the next three releases, Hive aims to reach the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) milestone for "storing my files in the cloud and accessing them from multiple devices" use cases. The following new features are expected to arrive:

Account management:

• Change master password
• Updated settings and profile
• Account deletion

hiveNet visualizer:

• See connected nodes and corresponding metadata

File management:

• Drag and drop multiple files/folders at once
• Download folders
• Retry on failure (downloads, uploads)
• File update (ask for replacement if a file with the same name exists)
• Windows Explorer integration
• Mac Finder integration

Contribution management:

• Multi-device management
• See your contribution on all your devices

Android:

• Sign Up & Login
• File browsing & download

iOS:

• Sign Up & Login
• File browsing & download

Linux:

• Docker versions (ARM & x86)
• Fuse integration

Infrastructure:

• Improved swarm healing
• Improved performance
• Improved connectivity with HTTPS tunneling
• Network failure resilience
• Protect files from concurrent access

While some of these features may be ambitious, the Hive team is committed to delivering them within this timeline.

Q2 Roadmap Preview: hiveShare and more surprises ahead

Hive's Q2 roadmap is currently in the grooming and validating phases, with plans to finalize it by late March. The most significant addition will be the ability to share your files with hiveShare, along with a number of additional surprises that the busy Hive team is already cooking up.
