Historical release note. Published on 11 April 2023, this page records features announced for the early-access hiveDrive 1.10 desktop application and its companion Android launch. hiveDrive was the product name used at the time. This article does not describe current Windows availability or current Store setup. See current Hivenet app options and the current Store page for today's supported paths.
The April 2023 launch materials documented five changes in version 1.10.
At launch, hiveDrive 1.10 added native File Explorer integration for Windows. The release let users access and manage hiveDrive files through File Explorer without opening a separate application.
The launch materials described file and folder uploads as up to three times faster than in previous versions. This was a comparison with the earlier hiveDrive application, not a benchmark for the current Store product.
Version 1.10 supported uploads of files up to 3GB. That was the release limit in April 2023 and should not be treated as a current product limit.
The release included improved concurrent resource access control for files accessed from more than one device.
Version 1.10 also introduced automatic application updates so users did not need to install each update manually.
Hive also launched a companion Android application in April 2023. The release described it as a way to browse and download hiveDrive files from a phone or tablet. The original Google Play listing linked from this article no longer exists. Use the Hivenet downloads page for current Android, iOS, macOS, and web-app options.
Hivenet's consumer storage product is now called Store with Hivenet. The current downloads page states that there is no supported Windows or Linux application and that legacy desktop applications no longer receive updates or support. Desktop users can use the web app, while current platform availability is maintained on the downloads page.
This article remains available as a dated record of the hiveDrive 1.10 release. For current storage features, supported platforms, and setup guidance, use the Store page and downloads page.
